Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society

One of the most picturesque no-kill shelters in the United States, the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society is nestled amongst ten rolling acres in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Dogs romp and play all day long in expansive play yards, and cats relax and roam in cageless play rooms in North Carolina’s most modern adoption center designed and built for felines. Community outreach programs include low-cost spay/neuter and rabies vaccinations, free pet food pantry for families facing financial hardship, pet therapy in senior living facilities, and humane education and summer camp programs for local schoolchildren. Recognized nationally for lifesaving work across the southeast, the CHHS Animal Rescue Team has been featured on CNN, Good Morning America, and in Animal Sheltering Magazine.
