Glenville Community Center and Thrift Store
We award 3 four-year scholarships each year, We award grants to area Organizations that make Glenville a better place to live. We assist families in need. In 2022 this amount exceeded 45,000. Around 1975 GCDC opened the Glenville Thrift Store. Over the past 7 years, the Thrift Store has evolved to take in the entire building as well as a new building for donations and sorting. The Thrift store is the major funding source for the GCDC. This meant we needed a new Comm Center, so in January 2021, the Glenville VFW gifted their property to the GCDC in a Collaborative agreement to save the property and assure the area Veterans would continue to have a place to meet and hold their programs. In the next year, GCDC spent over $90,000 in upgrades and remodeling of the Glenville Community Center. It is a beautiful venue for the citizens of the Glenville area. It is available for private parties as well as Community events. Including "Grillin in Glenville" on the 2nd Saturday of each month and the "Potluck" dinner on the 4th Friday of each month, Bingo weekly on Thursdays. We have a great team of volunteers - Just ask the ones in the blue shirts or call Ralph 828-506-1163
